Kenya

Going away to run can be a great way for novices, experienced and even professional athletes to improve their running and fall even more in love with their sport.

Where

The High Altitude Training Centre (HATC) in Iten in the Rift Valley province of Kenya, also known as 'The Home of Champions'. Iten is around 2400m above sea level, and many of the best endurance athletes in the world live and train there. Many of Kenya's Olympic and World Champions train at Iten and it is common to see them jog past and even train on the same track as you during your stay! Holidays for runners of all standards are organised by a company called 'The Kenyan Experience'. On a trip organised by The Kenyan Experience, athletes will receive training advice and guidance from expert coaches, take part in guided runs and training sessions and have the opportunity to attend seminars and running workshops. It is perfect for any runner wanting to see what it is like to live and train like a champion following the 'Kenyan way'.
