Where

Alfamar Beach & Sport Resort, located in the Algarve, Portugal. It is very close to Faro airport, right next to the beach and is regarded as the best sports complex in the Algarve.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available either in the 4 star Alfamar hotel or in the 'Algarve Gardens' complex which has various houses and apartments to choose from.

Price

For a 2 person room at the Alfamar hotel it is around 90 euros per night for room only and 150 euros per night for a room with a sea view and half board. Staying in the Algarve Gardens complex is cheaper, especially for larger groups. To hire a villa suitable for 5 people the cost is around 130 euros per night, making it 26 euros per person per night.

Travel

Fly to Faro airport, the resort is then a short transfer away (approximately 10km). Car rental is also available from the airport.

Training Facilities

The 4 lane athletics track has 6 lane straights and facilities for jumps, throws and the pole vault. There is also a marked cross country course on the resort which was used in the European Cross Country Championships in 2010. The gym is fully equipped with weights and cardio equipment. There are also facilities for tennis, volleyball and football.

Fun

The resort has an indoor and outdoor pool and is located right next to the beach (where the hotel owns a private beach area reserved for guests). There is also a spa which offers a number of treatments and massages. Guests can also enjoy beach volleyball, table tennis and access to water sports facilities in the private beach area.
