Where

Geroskipou Sports Centre (or known locally as Yeroskipou) in Paphos, Cyprus. The climate in Paphos allows for warm weather training all year round as due to its coastal location, the summers are cooler than inland while the winters are warmer.

Accommodation

Located within walking distance of the Geriskipou Sports Centre is the Aliathon Holiday Village. This has a fully equipped gym, 5 swimming pools and various rooms available for group fitness sessions. There are 329 apartments split into two areas, the Fishing Village accommodation and the Aegean Village accommodation. The apartments have Wi-Fi, fully-equipped kitchens, private terraces and balconies.

Price

To hire a standard apartment in the village, accommodating 6 people, prices start at 810 euros per week.

Travel

Fly to Paphos International airport (PFO) which is 16 km away from the centre. From there it is possible to organise a transfer, rent a car or use the local bus service which can take you to Paphos centre.

Training Facilities

At the Geroskipou Sports Centre there is an 8 lane athletics track with blocks, hurdles and a seating capacity of 3500! There is also a gym with basic weights equipment. There is an Olympic standard swimming pool and 2 football pitches to do grass sessions around. For longer runs there is a seaside path (called the E4 path) which runs for 24km, with part of it linking the Aliathon Holliday Village to Coral Bay- a popular tourist town with a beautiful beach.

Fun

There are many places of cultural interest nearby such as the Catacombs of Agia Solomoni, the Odeon and the Acropolis. Within the Aliathon Holiday Village there are bowling greens, a high rope park, an archery range and on-site scuba diving to name but a few. The beach is also just across the road!
