The Lake District
Going away to run can be a great way for novices, experienced and even professional athletes to improve their running and fall even more in love with their sport.
Where
Lake Windermere, located in the Lake District National Park it is England's largest stretch of water, there are hundreds of trails running round the lake and also out into the surrounding countryside. Not so suitable for the track runners, this is what every park runner dreams of!

If possible it is best to drive to your accommodation as this then allows you to travel around the area on your stay so you can visit the local attractions and explore a new part of countryside each day.
Training Facilities
This is for the wilder runner who enjoys trails, hills and great views. The facilities are all natural. There are more than 3,100 kilometres of footpaths in the Lake District National park, meaning there are miles and miles of unspoiled terrain to explore. It is also possible to swim in the lake (weather conditions permitting!) and cycle on the trails around the lake.
Fun
There are a variety of water sports you can try out on the lake as well as well as opportunities to go hot air ballooning and rock climbing. There is also a tree top trek adventure centre on the lakeside about 2 miles from the town of Windermere.
