The fourth Bob Lewis Memorial Meeting took place at the Weir Archer Athletics and Fitness Centre on 30th August, bringing athletes of all ages back to Kingston for a day built around personal bests and the memory of a man who set plenty of his own.

Bob Lewis was a European Masters Games Champion over 400m, and the meeting Momentum Sports runs in his honour has grown into a fixture on the local calendar since its launch. This year's edition followed the same format that has made it popular with athletes from clubs across the region: age-graded competition open to sprinters, distance runners, and the youngest members of the club alike, with a PB board at trackside recording every personal best set on the day.

The "I Just Got A Personal Best" boards were in constant use! Athletes across the age groups picked it up after crossing the line inside their own best time, and by the end of the meeting the collection of photos told its own story of the standard on show. Masters athletes competed for the meeting's own prize, a lemon drizzle cake awarded for the best age-graded performance over 400m, a tradition that has stuck since the event began and keeps the emphasis on age-graded merit rather than raw times alone.

Younger athletes had their own competition within the day, with medals awarded across the 75m and 600m for the U10 and U12 age groups, boys and girls. The 75m produced tight racing throughout the age groups, and the 600m tested the youngest members of the club over a distance that rewards pacing as much as speed. Results below.

The day drew athletes from beyond Momentum's own ranks too. Masters vests from clubs including Epsom were among those pictured with the PB board, while the distance programme included a 3000m race won by Larry Gavin in 9:24.03, ahead of Lucy Richards (10:39.56), Darragh Wiltshire (10:43.64), Tim Kerr (10:53.02), Emily Davenport (11:09.76), Eleanor Arnfield (12:01.29) and Peter Giles (13:29.02), with runners from clubs including IMPCT, VAC, GG, KACPH and HW alongside Momentum's own entrants. For a club-run fixture, the entry list and the range of events on offer, from sprints and middle distance, gave the day the feel of a proper open meeting rather than a one-off club gathering.

Momentum Sports set up its photo booth trackside again this year, giving athletes and coaches the chance to mark the occasion beyond the results sheet, and the Momentum Track Club branding was on display throughout alongside support from Places Leisure, who operate the Weir Archer Centre.

More photos from the day are still coming in and will be added over the coming days. For now, thanks go to every athlete who travelled to take part, whether they were chasing a spot on the PB board, a medal in the age-group races, or simply their first taste of competition at the venue. The Bob Lewis Memorial Meeting continues to do exactly what it was set up to do: give athletes a genuine competitive opportunity while keeping Bob Lewis's name, and his achievements over 400m, part of the club's calendar every August.
