Momentum Sports and Aspire Athletics Academy joined forces for their first partnered Quad Kids competition, bringing together young athletes from across the U9, U11 and U13 age groups for a morning of multi-event competition. Quad Kids is the standard introductory multi-event format in UK junior athletics. Athletes compete across four disciplines — typically a sprint, a jump, a throw and an endurance run, with points awarded for each performance and totalled to produce an overall ranking. It is designed to give young athletes exposure to a range of events rather than specialising early, and it doubles as a useful talent identification tool for coaches watching across disciplines. The partnership between Momentum Sports and Aspire Athletics Academy brought two clubs together under the same format for the first time, and the turnout visible from the day suggests a healthy field across all three age groups.

In the U9 girls, S. Lakin took first place overall, with P. Light second and S. Sandhu third. Among the U9 boys, H. Kennerley won gold, M. Saewicz took silver, and O. Jones bronze.
The U11 girls was won by P. Cureton, with H. Mockford finishing second and Z. Omidiran third. In the U11 boys, M. Scialpi came out on top overall, ahead of L. Gartshore in second and S. Tait in third. At U13, the girls competition was won by F. McCarthy Bell, with M. Keelaghanclow-Wilson second and I. Hartung third. The U13 boys saw J. Connor take first place, R. Craig finish second, and C. Hoare third.

Across the three age groups and both genders, eighteen athletes stood on the podium. For many of them it will have been one of their first experiences of competitive athletics, earning points for how fast they run, how far they jump and how far they throw, and seeing their name on a results board. That is precisely what this format is designed to do.
For Momentum Sports and Aspire Athletics Academy, the partnership represents a straightforward idea: pool resources, run a well-organised competition, give young athletes a proper event to prepare for and perform at. The first one went well. It will not be the last!
