What is MTC Monthly?
MTC Monthly is a newsletter keeping our members informed of upcoming events, races and other club-related matters.
It is also a way of celebrating our athletes as the indoor season approaches.
If you have any issues you would like to discuss with us, please reply to this email, or find a specific committee member's details on our website.
Surrey Championships conclude
The Surrey Championships were split, with most events taking place a few weeks ago, but some athletes went back to our home turf to compete in the remaining events.
Oscar Morrell had a clean sweep of medals in the M35 category, with gold in the javelin and discus, a silver in the long jump and a bronze in the 100m.
Sophie-Shalom Ajuka also took home a gold, but for her it was in the 400mH in a shiny new PB of 66.48.
Alex Kohlhas kicked off his season in style with a gold medal in the M40 1500m.
Well done also to Ethan and Reuben who both ran well at the event.
MTC goes European
In May, Rebecca Keddie and Sam Ige made the trip to Brussels to take part in the IFAM event.

Sam was invited into the main programme for the first time, running well against a very strong field.
Rebecca also continued her success in the 800m this season, with this race contributing to her selection for the British Championships later this month.

MTC around the grounds
When the news that Rebecca Keddie was joining MTC hit the press, all of us were very excited. The fact she was awarded an England vest within weeks of joining made good on that excitement.
She headed up to Loughborough International, where she placed 5th overall with a 2:08.86 clocking.
Lily Cowen had a great showing at the Southern athletics championships, winning the 200m in very difficult conditions. It's great to have another gold medal back at Kingsmeadow.
George Storey has been very active, competing in as many competitions as he can get his hands on. As a result, he's come away with stellar PBs in both the 100m (12.36) and the 200m (24.71) at the Stratford GP.
Daniel Nabhani also ran a personal best at Stratford with a 12.62 clocking.
There were many more performances from all our athletes at the YDL, Ebbisham league, SAL and more. Keep them coming team and give us a shout if you've ran and would like a shoutout.

The SAL is always a highlight for MTC, with prize money up for grabs to the highest points scorers.

Kit
All members of MTC are entitled to a free vest. These can be collected at any training session — just ask any Momentum coach to get your hands on one.
MTC also has Nike and Joma kit available on KitLocker.com under Momentum Track Club. We also have new shorts and briefs.

Richard's Note
I have 100 words and can't possibly do May justice in that.
The season is well and truly underway now, with all of our league campaigns in full swing — and lots of successes, personal bests and more.
From a huge pile of medals at the Surrey Championships, to Rebecca winning her first England vest at Loughborough International, to our first Southern Athletics League win, it's been a momentous month for MTC.
There have been strong performances by the younger athletes too as well as literally dozens and dozens of PBs by athletes across the board.
June is going to be just as busy, with Lily already winning the Southern U20 200m title and the lots of strong performances in a Lily B match.
And, have the British Champs, next SAL, next Lily B, Quadkids, Country Schools and younger age group Southerns to come.
Keep up the great work everyone – you're all a credit to our quickly growing and very successful club.
