Momentum Sports has confirmed the medal winners from the U10 and U12 75m and 600m races at the Bob Lewis Memorial Meeting, with all prize winners now contacted directly following the event on 30th August.
The youngest age groups at the meeting raced across two distances each, giving every U10 and U12 athlete, boys and girls, a sprint and a middle-distance event to compete in over the course of the day. The 75m tested pure speed off the line, a format that suits the shorter attention spans and explosive style typical of athletes at this age, while the 600m asked a different question entirely, rewarding those who could hold their effort evenly across close to a lap and a half of the Weir Archer track.
Results below.
75m
U12 Boys: 1st Rocco, 2nd Fabian, 3rd Jacob
U12 Girls: 1st Amelia, 2nd Betty, 3rd Ivy
U10 Boys: 1st Seth, 2nd Nikodem, 3rd Luke
U10 Girls: 1st Olivia, 2nd Isabel, 3rd Luna
600m
U12 Boys: 1st Aaron, 2nd Harry, 3rd Xander
U12 Girls: 1st Mabel, 2nd Georgia, 3rd Alyssa
U10 Boys: 1st Seth, 2nd Luke, 3rd Lucian
U10 Girls: 1st Luna, 2nd Ellie, 3rd Chloe
A handful of names appear across both distances. Seth took gold in the U10 Boys 75m and followed it with silver in the 600m, a sprint-endurance double that is not easy to manage at that age, while Luke medalled in both races too, taking bronze in the 75m and silver in the 600m. On the girls' side, Luna was the standout across the two events, winning the U10 Girls 75m before taking gold again in the 600m, a clean sweep of both her age group's sprint and middle-distance titles on the day.
The medal presentations themselves were held trackside, with Sam and Jane (Bob's wife) on hand to hand out medals to each of the winners as the results were confirmed. It is a part of the Bob Lewis Memorial Meeting that matters as much as the racing itself for this age group, giving younger athletes their first taste of a proper podium moment alongside the senior and masters competition taking place elsewhere on the programme that day.
The U10 and U12 age groups sit at the entry point of the pathway that eventually produces the senior athletes competing further up the results sheet at meetings like this one, and races built specifically around their needs, shorter sprints and a manageable middle-distance option rather than the full range of senior events, are part of how that pathway is supported. Momentum Sports has continued to build that structure into the Bob Lewis Memorial Meeting each year since it began, alongside the club's junior, senior and masters programme, and the format has stayed consistent across all four editions of the meeting so far, giving families and coaches a familiar shape to plan around each August.
With the medals now distributed and every winner contacted individually, attention turns to the rest of the meeting's results and the photo album from the day, both of which have been shared with attendees over the past week. For the U10 and U12 athletes who stood on the podium this year, the 75m and 600m results from Kingston mark an early step in what, for some, may become a longer athletics journey through the age groups and clubs that make up the wider Momentum Sports and Momentum Track Club setup.
The Bob Lewis Memorial Meeting is run by Momentum Sports and sponsored by TF1 Athletic and Weir Archer Fitness.
