The South of England AA Championships returned to Bedford International Athletic Stadium over the weekend, and lots of Momentum Sports athletes made the trip to compete against some of the best senior and U20 athletes across the region. Bedford is a great venue for a championship of this level and the standard across the weekend was high — which makes our athletes' performances all the more impressive.

In the senior women's 800m, Sophie delivered a superb performance to take gold 🥇, running 2:13.94 — a brilliant result at this level and a real statement of where she is in her season. In the senior men's 200m, Sam was equally impressive, making the semi-finals in a highly competitive field with a time of 22.64.

Over in the U20 events, Lily produced a fantastic run to claim gold in the 200m with a wind-assisted PB of 24.30w 🥇 — a superb performance. Ella picked up a well-deserved silver in the U20 800m, clocking 2:17.55 🥈. And Charlie showed incredible determination in the 400m — making the final with the fastest heat time of 49.04, only to pick up a hamstring injury around the 350m mark. The fact that he gritted it out and still crossed the line in under 50 seconds says everything about his character, we wish him a speedy recovery.

A fantastic weekend of athletics from everyone involved. Congratulations to all our athletes who competed 👏
