You don't need to have all the very latest running gear to be
a good 400m runner. The most important things are footwear and having enough clothing
to be warm when you are training.
It is also useful to make sure you have a bag for spares with you, like spare clothes for
wet days, a drink and maybe some food to start your recovery after your run (eg a banana)
Vest and Shorts
Tracksuit
Trainers
Spikes - either sprint or middle distance spikes are needed - it will depend
on personal preference as to whether you would like a small heel on your spikes
or not. A good pair will provide good firm support underfoot as well as the
heel cushioning (should you decide on it).
