Bruce Tulloh was one of
Britain’s top distance runners in the 1960s and
he has put together a useful guide to the sport.
It is aimed at beginners, particularly those in
their school years, and gives a good description
of the different track events available.
There is a brief history of the sport,
descriptions of each of the events with their
rules and tactics, as well as a very basic guide
to the kinds of training needed for the various
events. The tips included are very good pointers,
although, being a short book, there is a bit of
a shortage of detail in places.
