The Olympic Games is the
pinnacle of any athlete's ambitions. There is
no greater prize in sport than an Olympic Gold
Medal and this book gives a rundown of the greatest
Olympic performances of all time.
This book was
published before the Sydney Games, but although
a little out of date, it is very interesting to
look at the predictions that are made for Sydney
(did you know that the same Aussie team had won
the previous two coxless four rowing events and
were looking for the hat-trick!).
For each of the summer and
winter games, up to 1996, there is a chapter
with descriptions of the most momentous events
and a range of photos summarising the main stories.
At the back of the book is a listing of each of
the medallists in every event since the first
games in Athens in 1896.
